Church Of England Admits It Covered Up Sexual Abuse Of Boys
The head of the Church of England has admitted that the Church helped cover-up the systematic sexual abuse of young boys for decades.
In an astonishing admission, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, apologised to the victims of ex-bishop Peter Ball and other senior leaders who routinely raped boys since the 1970’s and got away with it with help from the Church.
The admission comes just one month after the Vatican declared that their priests should not be held responsible for raping children as young as 7 – claiming that “children know what they’re doing, so it isn’t rape.”
ABC News reports: Welby ordered the independent report after Ball was convicted and imprisoned in 2015 for misconduct in public office and indecent assaults against teenagers and young men from the 1970s to 1990s. Ball, who admitted to abusing 18 young men, was released after serving 16 months.
