We just witnessed the largest quarterly GDP decline since the last financial crisis, and experts are warning that the figure for the second quarter will be far, far worse. In fact, as you will see below, one expert is telling us to brace ourselves for the worst economic numbers “in the post-World War II era”. On an annualized basis, U.S. GDP fell by 4.8 percent during the first quarter, and that was a bit worse than most economists were projecting. And economists were also surprised that consumer spending was down 7.6 percent and business investment was down 8.6 percent during January, February and March. Under normal circumstances, those would be absolutely horrible numbers, but these are not normal circumstances. On April the 1st the total number of confirmed cases from the coronavirus was 862,890 with 30,000 in a critical condition. Total deaths were at, 42,196 and the world was in a panic, little did we know then that by the end of April the total number of confirmed cases from the coronavirus would be at an incredible 3,206,333 a rise of 2,343,443 in just 30 days, with a death toll of 227,958 and most governments in the Western world claiming the death toll is a very conservative figure and is certainly much higher. How is it possible that all of the coronavirus models could have been so completely and utterly wrong about what was going to happen? Very early in this pandemic, some models that were predicting millions of deaths caused quite a bit of panic all over the globe. In fact, a projection done by researchers at the Imperial College of London warned that 40 million people could die from COVID-19 this year alone. Obviously that estimate was dead wrong, and it has become quite clear that this pandemic is not an “end of the world” scenario. Police in the UK have warned a Christian street preacher that it’s now a criminal offence to preach the Bible in public if someone deems it offensive.
Joshua Sutcliffe was preaching at Oxford Circus in London when he was approached by an officer of the Metropolitan Police force.
The officer had been called in after a member of the public reported Mr Sutcliffe for saying something they did not agree with.

“Just had a call that someone was offended by something you’ve said,” the officer explained.
“I’m not going to stop you from doing what you do, but if there’s anything offensive–if someone finds something offensive, regardless of what you think, it’s a crime. There can be a crime there.
“It’s an offence if somebody finds something offensive,” the officer added.
During his gospel message “about Jesus’ love and forgiveness for everyone”, Mr Sutcliffe had made mention of 1 Corinthians 6:9, a passage that lists a number of sins, including homosexuality.

But at the same time, farmers all over America have been dumping millions of gallons of milk, disposing of millions of pounds of fresh vegetables, and putting farm animals to death at a rate that we have never seen before. Seasonal rains continued to strengthen in most parts of East Africa during the fourth week of April 2020, leading to a significant increase in rainfall which triggered deadly flash floods in Ethiopia and Somalia. Around 83 000 people have been displaced.
Since April 20, rains have been affecting much of Somalia’s states and territories, causing a river to burst which triggered fatal flash floods. Damage and casualties were reported, particularly in the regions of Bay and Bakool.

What comes out of the sea shows the health of the sea and in recent years the millions of dying sea birds around the world are showing nothing is coming out of the sea. The most recent sea bird showing signs dying from starvation appears to be guillemots washing up on beaches across the north-east of Scotland.
New Arc rescue centre has been receiving a number of calls regarding guillemots washed up on beaches across the north-east, most of which are dead.
Head of the charity, Keith Findlay is asking people walking along beaches to check on the birds. He said: “This is happening at a time near the start of the breeding season and although the birds are not a rare species, this could have a major impact on their population.”

(Fox News) – Tens of millions of Americans from Texas up toward the Great Lakes are under the gun for a threat of severe weather Tuesday, including the risk of hail, winds that could reach hurricane force, and some tornadoes. A weather system moving into the Plains is expected to spark widespread thunderstorms stretching from central Texas to the Mississippi River Valley and into the Midwest.
“If you live across portions of the Plains states up towards the Midwest, you need to pay close attention to your local weather forecast as well as your watches and warnings, because we have another round of strong storms, including large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes that are going to stretch from Texas all the way up towards the Great Lakes,” Fox News senior meteorologist Janice Dean said Tuesday on “Fox & Friends First.”

(ETH) – President Donald Trump has just ordered meat-processing plants to remain open to protect the food supply in the United States, despite many concerns about coronavirus outbreaks, drawing a backlash from unions that said at-risk workers required more protection.
According to a report from Reuters, Trump issued the executive order out of concerns with food shortages and supply chain disruptions, Trump issued the executive order using the Defense Production Act to mandate that the plants continue to function. The world’s largest meat companies, including Smithfield Foods Inc SFII.UL, Cargill Inc CARG.UL, JBS USA [JBS.UL] and Tyson, have all halted operations at least 20 slaughterhouses and processing plants in North America as a result of workers falling sick, stoking global fears of a meat shortage.
The executive order by the president is designed in part to give these companies legal cover with more liability protection in case employees catch the virus as a result of having to go to work. This comes on the heels of John H. Tyson, the chairman of Tyson Foods, warning that the food supply chain was “breaking” and warned of the potential for meat shortages.

(AP) – For the first time, a blood test has been shown to help detect many types of cancer in a study of thousands of people with no history or symptoms of the disease. The test is still experimental. Even its fans say it needs to be improved and that Tuesday’s results are not ideal.
Yet they show what benefits and drawbacks might come from using these gene-based tests, called liquid biopsies, in routine care — in this case, with PET scans to confirm or rule out suspected tumors. “We think that it’s feasible,” said Nickolas Papadopoulos, a Johns Hopkins University scientist who helped develop the test.
Using it along with standard screening methods “doubled the cancers that were detected” in the study, he said. But the test also missed many more cancers than it found and raised some false alarms that led to unnecessary follow-up procedures. It was only studied in women 65 to 75 years old and needs to be tried in men, other ages, and more diverse groups
